Critics Choice Awards 2025 Officially Rescheduled Amid Los Angeles Fires

The 2025 Critics Choice Awards, initially slated for January 12, has been rescheduled due to the devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles. The event will now take place on Friday, February 7, 2025. The live broadcast will air on E! from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

The awards ceremony, originally postponed until January 26, was delayed to ensure the safety of those affected by the catastrophic wildfires. Chelsea Handler, who is set to host the event, will now lead the ceremony next month. The announcement of the new date was made by the Critics Choice Association (CCA) on January 17.

The fires have wreaked havoc on Los Angeles County, spreading from Pacific Palisades to Pasadena and claiming numerous homes, businesses, and lives. Celebrities, including Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, and others, have been personally affected, with many losing their homes.

Mandy Moore shared heartbreaking photos on Instagram, stating that "every house on our street is gone."

The wildfires, fueled by powerful Santa Ana winds, have caused tragic loss, including the death of Blues Brothers actress Dalyce Curry, who perished in the Easton Fire. Local authorities have confirmed at least 24 deaths from the fires, and recovery efforts are ongoing.

Despite the overwhelming destruction, Hollywood stars have stepped up to support relief efforts. Beyoncé, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Eva Longoria have all pledged donations, while Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Jennifer Garner have volunteered at donation sites.

Taylor Swift, Leonardo DiCaprio, and other celebrities have also contributed funds to support recovery and provide resources to the affected communities.

DiCaprio committed $1 million in partnership with Rewild’s Rapid Response Program to support urgent needs and post-fire recovery efforts. The funds will benefit organizations like the LA Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, and World Central Kitchen, providing aid to first responders, affected individuals, and animals.

The crisis has stirred deep emotional responses from those affected. Milo Ventimiglia, who lost his Malibu property, spoke to CBS News about the heartbreak of witnessing entire neighborhoods destroyed. Similarly, Taylor Swift shared on Instagram about the widespread devastation, urging her followers to donate to organizations aiding fire relief, such as MusiCares and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

While the loss is tragic, there is hope in the outpouring of support from celebrities and organizations working together to help those in need. As the Los Angeles community continues to recover, the rescheduled Critics Choice Awards will serve as a reminder of resilience and unity in the face of adversity.
