Jackie Siegel Opens Up About Tragic Loss of Husband and Sister Just Days Apart: "I Now Have Extra Guardian Angels"

In an incredibly emotional and difficult time, Queen of Versailles star Jackie Siegel is sharing her grief — and her strength — after losing both her husband and sister within a heartbreaking span of just three days.

Jackie, 59, recently revealed that her husband, David Siegel, founder and chairman of Westgate Resorts, passed away on April 5 following a battle with cancer at the age of 89. Only three days later, Jackie was hit with another devastating blow: the sudden death of her sister, Jessica Mallery, 43, due to an accidental overdose involving fentanyl-laced cocaine.

Despite the unimaginable pain, Jackie has found moments of comfort and purpose in the tragedy. "I truly believe they're with me now, guiding me," she said. "Sometimes I feel their presence, like when I get that strong gut feeling or goosebumps — it’s like they’re helping me navigate life."

Honoring Loved Ones Through Advocacy and Action

Jessica's passing is sadly not the Siegel family's first encounter with the dangers of drug addiction. In 2015, Jackie and David lost their daughter Victoria at just 18 years old to a drug overdose. That tragic loss led them to establish the Victoria's Voice Foundation, an organization devoted to raising awareness and fighting the opioid crisis.

In a heartfelt statement shared through the foundation, Jackie emphasized the continued importance of their mission: "Jessica’s death is a painful reminder of the fentanyl epidemic sweeping across the country. We will keep fighting this battle in her name."

Jackie also shared that Jessica's organs were donated, saving several lives in the process. "She’s still helping people, even after death," Jackie said. "Her eyes will give someone sight. Her skin will heal burn victims. She’s touching lives in ways we never imagined."

A Sister Remembered

Jessica was described as a “free spirit” who trusted deeply and loved fully. “She had a heart that lit up the world,” Jackie shared. “Her energy was contagious, and she inspired me in so many ways.”

As Jackie continues to grieve, she also remains focused on using her family’s story to make a difference. "This isn’t just my personal loss — it's a call to action. We need to talk about addiction, support prevention efforts, and encourage organ donation."

If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction or mental health issues, help is available. Call the SAMHSA National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988, or seek medical support immediately. Carrying naloxone (Narcan) can help save lives.
